RACELINE EVENTS (operating as) STADIUM DRIFT AUST.

 

2014 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS & REGULATIONS.

Conditions of entry to any Raceline Event

1/ Safety Inspection

/ Prior to any event, all vehicles must pass a Safety Inspection which will be carried out by an approved Official.

B/ Once the Safety Inspection has been passed each vehicle will have an Approval sticker, signed and dated, attached to the left hand side of the front windscreen.

C/ No vehicle will be able to enter the track or take part in the event until the Approval Sticker has been attached to the vehicle.

D/ All entrant’s vehicles are to present for Safety Inspection ready to compete, with bonnet and boot open and the driver with the vehicle with all his/her driving and safety gear

E/ All entrants must hold appropriate licence for the event – (Stadium Drift Australia )

 

2/ Fire Extinguisher

A/ All vehicles must have an (ASA) Approved and fully charged fire extinguisher securely bolted (not zip tied) to the vehicle and within easy reach of the driver when belted in

3/ Fluids

A/ No fluid leaks of any type including oils, lubricants, water and coolant

B/ The Clutch Cylinder and Brake master cylinder must be covered with a non-saturated absorbent material

C/ For vehicles fitted with a crankcase breather discharging to the atmosphere, each breather shall be vented into a secured catch can of at least 2 litres for engines up to 2000cc or 3 litres for over 2000cc

4/ Seats/Belts/Harness

A/ Seats are to be securely bolted in with minimum of four bolts through full thickness body or into chassis

B/ Seat belts (if used) are to be in good working order, retractable, with no visible damage or defect and mounted to manufacturer’s mounting points

C/ Safety Harness (preferred) are to be in good working order with no visible damage and mounted to either manufacturer’s mounting points or to welded in transverse member of roll cage or substantial part of structure or plated section of bodyshell.

D/ Seat Belts or Harness are to be worn at all times car is in motion on and off the track

 

5/ Battery

A/ Batteries must be securely clamped or bolted in with no movement.

B/ The Positive terminal must be covered with an insulating (plastic) cover. Both terminals must be in good condition.

C/ Battery must be in good condition capable of starting the vehicle without jump assistance.

 

6/ Boot

A/ If the rear seat has been removed the boot must be adequately sealed from the driver’s compartment.

This applies to vehicles where the fuel tank/surge tank or fuel pump & lines are visible when the hatch is raised.

B/ Boot/rear hatch must be fitted with a working locking system and must be able to be opened from the outside of the vehicle

C/ No loose items to be inside boot including drink cans, tools, parts, jacks and wheels.

 

7/ Wheels/Tyres

A/ Wheel spacers, if used, must be checked and approved. NB washers are not acceptable

B/ All wheel studs and nuts must be fitted and tight.

C/ All wheel nut covers (including hub caps) must be removed.

D/ Rear tyres shall be generally and commercially available from stocks normally kept within ALL STATES in Australia, have a treadwear of no less than 240TW, be manufactured for street use, have DOT approval.

There will be instant & severe penalties for drivers using "cheated" tyres.

E/ Each tyre must have a moulded tread pattern across the entire width of the working area of the tyre (eg no semi slicks)

F/ For Stadium Drift Australia competitions please refer to Pro Tour Regulations.

G/ Front tyres must be in roadworthy condition – tread not below wear markers across full width.

 

8/ Body

A/ Bonnets must be fitted correctly (no rear spacers) and fitted with a working safety catch as a minimum

B/ All vehicles must be well presented with body panels and front and rear bars securely attached.

C/ All vehicles must have front and rear towing points fitted and easily accessible and marked with a red or white arrow. Factory type tow points (if fitted) are acceptable if accessible.

D/ Numbers (when required) must be a minimum of 150 mm high and fitted to both sides on rear passenger windows as well as the lower left of the front windscreen.

E/ No loose items to be inside vehicle including cameras, drink cans, tools, parts, jacks and wheels.

 

9/ Roll Cages

A/ All open top cars (ie, cars without a supporting structure between the top of the A-pillars and rear window) must be fitted with roll over protection structure.

B/ Roll cages to be constructed by known/reputable engineer & able to pass minimum CAMS standards.

C/ Whilst not mandatory for closed cars, a roll over protection structure (ROPS) is highly desirable.

 

10/ Exhaust

A/ Exhaust must exit behind a point mid way between front and rear axles.

B/ Exhaust cannot protrude more than 150 mm past outer edge of rear bumper.

C/ At venues where noise restrictions are in place all vehicles must comply with the db limit. This will be advised at least 30 days before the event.

D/ ALL VEHICLES MUST BE FITTED WITH A SPARK ARRESTOR OR MUFFLER OF SOME TYPE.

E/ REV LIMITERS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT ANY EVENT.

 

 

11/ Clothing/Helmets

 

A/All Pro Level and Level 2 drivers must wear approved driving suits.

B/ Single layer or Kart suits are acceptable.

C/ Drift, Matsuri and Street drivers must wear approved driving suits or suitable non-flammable overalls of the driver’s size, or other non-flammable (not Nylon or Polyester) clothing with full cover from ankles to neck to wrists. Zips/buttons to neck must be done up. Sleeves not pulled up. Socks to be worn.

D/ Hoodies are NOT acceptable.

E/ Helmets meeting or exceeding Australian Safety Standard AS1698 must be worn and secured at all times while car is moving, including on return road.

F/ Novelty type helmets are NOT acceptable.

G/ Covered shoes or boots with socks must be worn while in vehicle. No thongs or sandals.

H/ Drift School , new drivers and passengers must wear clothing as per drivers.

/ All safety gear and helmets must be presented at safety inspection.

 

12/ Driver Behaviour

A/ It is the driver’s responsibility to understand the course and the judging criteria. The Judge’s decision is final.

B/ Drifting shall be conducted on the sealed surface within the confines of the Race Circuit. Placing the wheels of the car outside the competition surface will not be tolerated and may incur penalty.

C/ Statics, Burnouts, Donuts are prohibited. Penalty is instant exclusion from the event.

D/ The layout of the track is not subject to restriction based on weather conditions – it may be wet or dry depending on requirements for the event and environmental conditions.

E/ Competitors demonstrating behaviour that, in the eyes of the Clerk of the Course, provides them with an undue competitive advantage will be deemed as “unsporting conduct” and may result in a driver being penalised or disqualified from the competition.

F/ Drivers are not permitted to extend any part of their person outside the body work of the vehicle. This includes actions such as hands/arms out windows, or opening of doors whilst the vehicle is in motion

G/ No smoking in pits or in vehicles or on track.

H/ Drivers, passengers and pit crew must at all times take reasonable direction from any Official.Drivers are at all times responsible for the actions of their crew members.

I/ Dangerous driving & speeding in the pit area will result in instant exclusion from the event as well as a min. 3 mth. Licence suspension.

J/ On track, pit area or carpark driving deemed to be wreckless, dangerous or putting other drivers & officials at risk will be dealt with by the event stewards & judges with severe penalties dealt out & may involve state police action.

K/ All Stadium Drift Aust events have a ZERO tolerance to alcohol & drugs & event officials have the right to carry out random testing at any time before or during any event.
